On the feast of St Alban anno domini MCCCCII was fought on Bryn Glas near the church of St Mary of Pilleth in the county of Maelienydd a great & bloody battle. In this fight the host of Herefordshire led by Sir Edmund de Mortimer was sore discomforted by the men of Wales commanded by their Prince Owain Glyndŵr.
